Partly simultaneous X-ray and optical observations were performed to
test the suggested intermediate polar nature of the old nova V603 Aql.
The system was met at an unexpectedly low X-ray luminosity and the
expected periodic modulation could not be detected. The optical
observations revealed no unusual properties.
