The interstellar visual total absorption of X Per was found by spectrophotometric gradient measurements. A comparison is made between this value and the hydrogen column density. The comparison suggests that the objects are equidistant as observed from the earth. Since ADS 2859B and X Per comprise a distant binary system having a mechanical connection, it is felt that the 3U 0352+30 X-ray source might be caused by a massive supernova explosion.
