Antennas analyses were performed for the 500 meter diameter antenna arrays proposed to be used for Microwave Wireless Power Transmission. Parameters including antenna tilt, subarray tilt, subarray gaps, and random failures were studied for a 5.8 GHz array transmitting 1.78 Gigawatts. Grating lobe levels for each case were simulated to determine the optimum conditions as to not exceed the Exposure Limit for Uncontrolled Environment for 60 minutes IEEE C95.1-1991 p15 level of 0.01 milliwatts per square centimeter. The conditions assumed that a 10 degrees phase error, +/- 1 dB amplitude error, and a 2 % random failures with a 10 dB Gaussian antenna taper for 1, 2, and 4 meter subarrays. The degradations in receive power at a rectenna, i.e. the increase in scattered power, as a function of phase errors, amplitude errors failures are included. These analyses wee used in formulating a set of performance standards for the microwave system.
