A parent body history is suggested for the winonaites, primitive achondrites that have experienced partial melting and show evidence for brecciation and metamorphism on the precursor body. Attention is given to new study results from Antarctic meteorites, their implications for the precursor, heating and partial melting observations, mixing, metamorphism and cooling inferences, and Ar-39/Ar-40 ages for three winonaites.
