A new type of spectrometer consisting of a flat Bragg crystal and a Hadamard transform X-ray telescope is described. It has a wide field of view and is suitable to observe line spectrum features of widely extended X-ray sources. The signal to noise ratio advantage of this spectrometer is almost the same as that of the curved Bragg crystal spectrometer proposed by Borken and Kraushaar, but its wave length resolution and spatial resolution are better than for the curved crystal spectrometer.
