The goals of the current work are the definition of the properties of polar faculae of the Sun and verifying the hypothesis about polar faculae as concentrations of small-scale magnetic flux-tubes by means of high quality observations and theoretical study, including numerical radiation transfer calculations. The observations which form the basis of the study were performed with the German solar telescopes (GCT, VTT) at the Observatorio del Teide on Tenerife. The observations near polar caps of the Sun were made simultaneously with both telescopes. Spatially high resolved spectra of two magnetic sensitive iron lines Fe I 6301.5 Å and Fe I 6302.5 Å as well as broad band images were analyzed. The size, intensity distribution, magnetic field strength, time evolution of polar faculae were studied. It was found from the analysis of the spectropolarimetric data that polar faculae possess a magnetic field of about 1600 G. The recent results of the data analyses are presented.
