The UV-excess Survey of the Northern Galactic Plane (UVEX) images a 10×185 square degrees wide band, centered on the Galactic Equator, in four optical bands (U,g,r and He I λ5875) using the 2.5 m INT on La Palma. Through an automatic algorithm, which works on a field-to-field basis, we select a catalogue of 13128 UV-excess sources from the photometry of the first 203 square degrees of UVEX data. The catalogue of blue UV-excess sources contains a mix of white dwarfs, post-common-envelope objects, interacting binaries, subdwarfs, T Tauri stars and QSO.
