The dynamics of a membrane is a coupled system of a moving elastic surface and an incompressible membrane fluid. The coupled system consists of parabolic equations, hyperbolic equations and an elliptic equation, but energy dissipation is satisfied. The coupling of including the moving curved space (geometric nonlinearity), the nonlinearity of the elastic force (elastic nonlinearity) and the nonlinearity of the fluid dynamics (fluid nonlinearity) makes the main difficulties in analyzing such a system. In this paper, we give a local existence and uniqueness result of the solution to the coupled system by reformulating the system into a new system in the isothermal coordinates. An appropriate iterative scheme is constructed and the consistency between the limit system and the original system is also proven.
