It is noted that while most known H2O masers have been detected in the direction of known OH masers, a small number of H2O masers have been found in the direction of H II regions where no OH maser is known. Three H2O masers associated with H II regions were observed to investigate the possibility that any OH masers associated with them may be somewhat weaker in the directions of the H II regions. Weak OH maser emission was detected at 1665 MHz in all three cases by using higher frequency resolution, improved sensitivity, and two senses of circular polarization. Positions are reported for the OH maser sources, and it is suggested that conditions favoring both H2O and OH masers are commonly present in the vicinity of compact H II regions, although the two types of masers are not usually precisely coincident either spatially or in terms of velocity.
