We propose a novel and efficient method for identifying the spatial
distribution of fractures and faults of field-scale porous media, such
as oil reservoirs and groundwater aquifers. The method is based on
wavelet transformation of the porosity logs, and is demonstrated by its
applications to synthetic as well as real data.
