In this study, wavelet analysis was applied to the microvariability light curves of blazars 0716+714, ON231 and BL Lac. We analyzed 13 microvariability light curves and determined the two most powerful periods for each data set using the IDL wavelet toolkit. Periods were compared between data sets to identify trends. Relativistic cosmological and beaming effects were used to determine the periods in the rest frame of the objects. These periods were then used to draw conclusions about the physical conditions in the relativistic jet. We interpret the flux variations in terms of collective plasma processes in the jets. From our analysis, inhomogeneities in the ambient jet medium are a length scales of 1013 meters.
