The set of equations developed by Kusukawa et al. (1970) is used to investigate the effect of self-gravitation on wave propagation in and the stability of a collisionless two-fluid plasma in a strong magnetic field in the case where the Larmor frequency is larger than the plasma frequency. The set of equations employed is modified to include the effect of self-gravitational attraction. It is found that there are three distinct modes of wave propagation along the magnetic field in the system considered, that one of the two dispersion relations obtained corresponds to Alfven-wave propagation, and that pressure anisotropy can result in the hose instability.
