Topics presented include source separation using higher order statistics, the application of three cross-correlation techniques to spaced-receiver data, determination of the turbulent spectrum in the ionosphere by a tomographic method, and high-latitude ionospheric electrostatic turbulence studied by means of the wavelet transform. Also presented are the reconstruction of travelling ionospheric disturbances parameters by a tomographic method, the global distribution of ionospheric small-scale irregularities from topside sounding data, the excitation of the earth-ionosphere waveguide by pulsed ELF sources, and the ionospheric effects of lightning during the increasing part of solar cycle 22.
