THE differences between Jupiter and conventional stars are apparently
due solely to its small mass. Therefore in looking for possible means of
formation of the Solar System it is natural to attempt to establish the
origin of the Jupiter-Sun binary system. The other planets could be just
a by-product of the evolution of this system.
