VLBI maps made at 2.3 GHz are presented for six strong compact sources which have been mapped at other frequencies. The quasars 3C 147 and 3C 286 show evidence for structure more complex than simple core jet morphology, although their cores are closely (2-3 deg) aligned with their more extended emission. The quasar 3C 380 does not show rapid component motions but instead shows strong spectral index gradients across its components. Structure is detected over a broad range of size in NRAO 150, and the milli-arcsecond core is located relative to a steep spectrum component 25 mas in size which is more prominent at 1.67 GHz. CTD 93, a compact double source, appears to have two components of quite similar spectra, and no third component or jets are evident. On the other hand, the map of 3C 395 dictates that its components have drastically different spectra when the present data are combined with other frequencies, and the relation of 3C 395 to its extended emission is difficult to understand.
