Thirty-nine galaxies associated with extended radio sources have been observed with high resolution at 3.7 cm. Observations of subsets of this sample have also been made at 6- and 21-cm wavelength. The projected baselines of the interferometers ranged from approximately 2 to 8 million wavelengths. At 3.7 cm, compact components were detected in the nuclei of 17 of the galaxies. The detection rate decreases with increasing cosmological distance. This strongly suggests that with observations of sufficient sensitivity, most, if not all, galaxies associated with extended sources will be found to have compact components in their nuclei.
