In this paper we describe an interactive visualization pipeline for a large-scale simulation that models the cosmic reionization with yet unmatched spatial resolution. Our approach is tailored to the massively parallel streaming architectures of modern graphics hardware. We employ an adaptive raycasting approach to process the large amount of data that results from the high spatial resolution of 20483 computational cells. The numerical model allows us to compute the temporal evolution of the ionized regions locally on the GPU while performing the raycasting, efficiently amortizing the latency of texture memory lookups and minimizing data transfer from host to GPU memory.
