Artificial Satellites
Scientific paper
A determination of the visibility periods of near-geosynchronous artificial satellites reveals some interesting characteristics. A table showing these characteristics is given and used to select suitable orbits for investigation. Accurate positional observations of satellites in such orbits could be used for studies of the Earth's gravitational field. Another table is given to enable observers to locate geostationary satellites, using a telescope.
