The shear viscosity of dense matter, which is characterized by strongly degenerate electrons and by ions in the liquid phase, and which is an important factor in stellar rotation, is calculated accurately. The electronic and ionic contributions to the shear viscosity are calculated separately. It is found that the electronic contribution becomes greater than the ionic one at higher densities. Accurate analytic fitting formulas are given in order to facilitate applications.
