Computation of the Jovian magnetosphere's VLF hiss-generating particle energy under longitudinal and transverse resonance conditions shows that the minimum energy required for electron generation of VLF hiss under the former condition is 100 eV-1keV at 2-10 kHz, while the corresponding transverse resonance condition energy range for the same frequencies is 8 keV-40 keV. Also computed is the average power radiated by the Cerenkov process in the Jupiter magnetosphere at L values of 5.6 Rj, at the 5 kHz wave frequency, for the cases 10 eV, 100 eV, and 1 keV electron energy.
