Verifications of short-term predictions of solar X-ray bursts and proton events for the maximum phase (2000) of Solar Cycle 23 issued by prediction centers are made in this paper. The results seem to show that at present the prediction level for X-ray bursts is fairly higher than for proton events and a method study would be very necessary for the improvement of the solar proton event prediction.
