A simple model of the dense ionized winds from young stellar objects (YSOs) leads to the prediction that the velocity width of lines formed in the wind and the obscuration to the source will be correlated with the evolutionary stage of the YSO and with each other. The earlier outflow stages will have narrower lines and higher obscurations. Available observations appear to be consistent with these predictions.
