VBLUW photometry of the young open cluster NGC 4755, also known as the κ Crucis cluster or "Jewel Box", is presented and discussed. Temperature and surface gravity for most of the stars are determined with the aid of theoretical colours. The modal reddening E(B-V)J = 0.36±0.03 and the distance modulus (m-M)0 = 11.25±0.25 are in good agreement with the results of recent investigations.
