Scientific paper

Observations of the sun with the RT-7.5 millimeter radio telescope have made it possible to find large-scale structures in the quiet-sun emission. It is shown that, even if there is no active region on the solar disk, latitudinal zones of enhanced brightness exist which coincide with zones of sunspot appearance. Brightness-temperature differences between equatorial and latitudinal zones are about 100 K at 3.4 mm wavelength.
