Polar Motion: Variations
Scientific paper
The relationship between the polar motion and North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) since the beginning of this century is investigated. The authors find that the NAO is possibly a new excitation source to the fluctuation in polar motion on decadal time scale. In addition, they first confirm with meteorological data that the phase inversion of 180° existed in decadal polar motion during 1920's.
