The paper presents a theoretical analysis of the relaxation to the background level of the parameters of a disturbed region at heights of 100-140 km in the atmosphere produced by a pulsed UV source. It is shown that the reduction in the concentration of disturbed components observed in this range of heights is mainly due to chemical reactions and spontaneous emission. Calculations are made of spatial-temporal distributions of electron density and the intensity of light emission stimulated by the UV pulses.
