Photographic red magnitudes of variable stars in a galactic center field surrounding the globular cluster NGC 6401 have been used to search for periodic variations in their light, using periodogram techniques. For 28 of these variables, periods were found and light curves plotted. Comments on the light curves and the type of variation are made. The distributions of periods and amplitudes suggest that many of the variables are Mira type. Their distances and interstellar absorptions are discussed.
