The behavior of the H-alpha line in Tau Cygni was investigated on the basis of 50 high-time-resolution spectrograms with a dispersion of 40 A/mm. The radial velocity and the absorption-line equivalent width were found to remain practically constant within the entire observation interval. The attenuation (or cessation) of the pulsation of Tau Cygni is evidently connected with its position at the red boundary of the instability strip of Delta Scuti stars and with the effective suppression of the pulsation by convective motions in the atmosphere.
