UBVRI(c) photometry for the short period (P = 0.301 day) eclipsing binary V361 Lyrae is presented. The light curves of V361 Lyr exhibit large, wavelength-dependent asymmetry. The full amplitude of the light curve increases from 0.9 mag in the I filter to 2.2 mag in the U filter. According to the model proposed by Andronov and Richter (1987), V361 Lyr is a semidetached binary with a vigorous mass transfer between components. The mass transfer leads to the formation of the hot region on the surface of a mass gaining component which causes the observed peculiarities of the light curve. Although the observations support this model, they also indicate that it is an over simplified one and cannot explain all observed features of the light curve of V361 Lyr.
