Scientific paper

Nova Aquilae 1999 No. 2 - V1494 Aql - was discovered on Dec 1, 1999 at visual magnitude 6.0. Observing campaigns to monitor the nova were immediately established by the American Association of Variable Star Observers (AAVSO); 1178 observations over 3 months were obtained. These data have been reduced to averages on 0.5 days in order to measure the statistical quality of the observations. The resulting light curve, with a standard error of 0.17±0.09 magnitude, is shown.
