This presentation provides an introduction to innovative ways for facilitating active learning by using dynamic and interactive computer-based activities. Presentation demonstrates how the computer-based activities engage students in working with data, images, and animations to make discoveries just like professional scientists. Presentation includes examples of introducing important concepts of physics and their application to studying orbital motion; exploring the Solar System; discovering extrasolar planets; etc. New techniques of using computer to reduce grading time to a few seconds and provide students with detailed feedback are also presented.
