Studies of icy mixtures under particular conditions, CO2 being the main component, are relevant to understand the chemistry and/or physics in different astrophysical scenarios. In this work we analyse the ability of CO2 ice to trap other gases. The main component of our experimental set-up is a Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCMB) used as a sample holder located inside a vacuum chamber under HV conditions (1E-7 mbar). The experiment consisted of warming up the previously deposited samples at 0.5 K min-1 and comparing the changes in the QCMB frequency for pure CO2 ice and for the mixture CO2: CH4. The results obtained suggest that CO2 is able to trap other molecules within its structure up to temperatures higher than their characteristic sublimation point. Further analysis will be necessary to study the changes in the CO2 ice structure during the annealing.
