The old nova DQ Her is the prototype for cataclysmic variable star systems containing rapidly rotating, magnetic, accreting white dwarf primary stars. DQ Her is an eclipsing binary with an orbital period of 4h 39m, and an observed 71-s oscillation in the light curve reflecting the spin period of the white dwarf primary. We analyze high-speed photometry data from the 1996 Whole Earth Telescope campaign, and data we obtained during the summer of 2003 using the SARA 0.9-m telescope. We update the existing ephemerides of both the primary eclipses as well as the 71-s oscillations.
We found the ephemeris for the primary eclipse to be:
HJD =(0.1936209154± 0.000000003)E +(2434954.9434123±0.0001610),
and the ephemeris for the 71s oscillations:
HJD =(2439628.771787±0.000013) +(8.22518319±0.00000002)*10-4E -(2.6250±0.0006)*10-14 E2 +(2.810±0.003)*10-24 E3
