The problem of achieving a more compact structure of the output aperture of the oscillator for a laser operating on a weakly amplifying medium is discussed for the case when the laser is used in conjunction with an external shaping telescope. It is proposed that for the two lenses the common part have the shape of a logarithmic spiral. This technique makes it possible to achieve compact shape of the output aperture for arbitrarily small radiation losses by suitable choice of the angle of rotation.
