Data obtained with the IUE and with the image-tube scanner on the Shane 3-m telescope at the Lick Observatory were used to determine the possible chemical composition of the high excitation nebula, M1-1. Though N may be enhanced, the composition of M1-1 does not seem to differ significantly from that of the sun, in contrast to NGC 6537. M1-1 abundances do not appear to differ by more than about a factor of two from those of the mean planetaries or the sun. NGC 6537 and NGC 6302 show large effects of nuclear processing in C, N, and possibly O, while M1-1, in spite of its high excitation and presumed origin from a relatively massive star, shows insignificant effects of nuclear processing.
