Swift UVOT has compiled the largest sample of UV supernova light curves, having observed 48 young SNe (by abstract deadline), half of which have multi-epoch lightcurves. These lightcurves include type Ia SNe as well as SNe Ib/c and IIP. We will show a comparison of the UV-optical colors and light curve properties of the different SN types and how they can help photometrically classify nearby SNe as well as high redshift SNe observed in the optical. This sample also provides a useful low redshift set with which to compare the rest frame UV light of high redshift SNe. We will also discuss the use of UV data to improve the usefulness of SNe Ia as standard candles.
