We analyse the expected chemical composition of Ultra High Energy Cosmic Rays (UHECRs) in the different mechanisms of UHECR acceleration. Particularly, the cases of both nonrelativistic and relativistic shock wave acceleration are considered in detail. We estimate as well a signature of the secondary protons from photo-disintegration of nuclei in energy spectrum of UHECRs and compare it with the observable Akeno-AGASA, HiRes and AUGER spectra.
