Telescope time is being requested for the enhancement and continued development of broad-band (UBVRI) photoelectric photometric standard stars. This work will improve the photoelectric data obtained by the author in recent years at the CTIO 1.5-m telescope. The stars and faint ends of several sequences distributed around the celestial equator that need this effort all involve stars from V about 14th mag and fainter. The work will provide common standard stars for all size telescopes in both hemispheres and for the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). The continued efforts at improving the broad-band UBVRI photometric system is important so that all astronomers using and needing photometric results can be confident of the zero points, transformations, and systematics of their results. Interest from several quarters has encouraged the author to implement a plan to establish a series of photometric sequences, similar to those in the equatorial regions, around the sky centered at -50 degrees declination. This additional effort began in July 1998, and is being pursued as quickly as possible.
