UBV measurements of the light of the night sky in the auroral zone during three seasons are presented. The mean brightness of the night sky in the V band is found to be equal to one star of 18.1 mag per sq arcsec, with considerable variations. The observed mean B - V and U - B indicies are 0.7 mag and -1.6 mag, respectively. Light curves of variable stars during strong auroral activities are also shown. On the basis of measurements the possibility of accurate stellar photometry in the auroral region is briefly discussed.
