UBV photometry is presented of 61 bright galaxies of a variety of morphological types. Although an extensive series of standard stars with well-determined UBV colors was observed in order to determine the transformations to the UBV system, a residual zero-point difference of approximately 0.035 mag in U - B appears to exist between the present data and those of de Vaucouleurs (1972, 1976, 1978) which are here adopted as standard. It is believed that, for the particular photomultiplier-filter combination used here, the transformation determined from stellar sources may not be strictly applicable to the nonstellar energy distributions of galaxies. The discrepancy was removed through the observation of standard galaxies, so the present results are on de Vaucouleurs's system.
