Universe: Large-Scale Structure, Universe: Galaxy Formation

Scientific paper

Analyses by two-point correlation function and correlation fractal dimension have provided evidences on that the large-scale structure of the universe is neither a simply fractal nor a distribution with power law two-point correlation function exactly. It is shown from the analyses of galaxies, clusters of galaxies and quasars etc. that typical scales may exist in the large-scale structure of the universe. Existence of the typical scales implies that the formation and evolution of galaxies can not be a pure gravitational process.
