From our previous study of the influence of the Malmquist bias on the determination of extragalactic distances from the Tully-Fisher relation (hereafter TF), it is shown that the results described by Giraud (1985) i.e. (i) a type effect in the TF relation (ii) an increase of the Hubble constant with velocities, are merely a consequence of this Malmquist bias.
