Radial pulsation periods are calculated for both homogeneous envelope models and two-zone models with helium rich or helium poor outer zones. Using Simon's resonance hypothesis, all simple resonances in model for Cepheid type variables are studied systematically. Simon's result, that two simple resonance conditions explain the narrow ranges in period ratios observed in the double mode Cepheids and the RRs type variables, is confirmed. However, the present homogeneous models cannot precisely give the observed period ratios for the double mode Cepheids, two-zone models are necessary. Simple resonance conditions can also explain the primary period ratio of AC Andromedae. Further studies are necessary to decide whether or not standard Population I models with evolution masses can at the same time satisfy the resonance condition and give the observed period ratios of RRs variables.
