The Zarnitsa-2 experiment involved the study of the interaction of electron beams injected from a rocket with the ionospheric plasma. This paper presents results of radar observations conducted during the Zarnitsa-2 experiment by means of a two-frequency coherent radar system. The observational data make it possible to conclude that the source of radio reflections and high-frequency radio emission can be identified with the near-rocket region. The size of the plasma formation produced by the beam along the geomagnetic field is determined as a function of injection height.
