The transient pulsar KS 1947+300 is in a Be star binary system. We have examined the data collected from this source by the Rossi X-Ray Timing Explorer during its 2000 October outburst. We have observed that this system occupied two distinct states during this outbursts. These states can be characterized by differences in the spectral shape of the emission as well as by the relative intensity of the pulsar emission. The state corresponding to the weaker periods of emission is strongly pulsed and has a more pulsar-like spectrum. The brighter state has stronger black body emission and relatively weaker pulsation. Further study of the states of this source will deepen our understanding of it through comparison with other sources.
