Ccd Images: Methods Of Reduction

Digital centering algorithms are important in astronomy. According to the physical mechanism of CCD and the principle of modified moment algorithm, the authors propose a new algorithm named two-dimensional modified moment, and derive its best threshold level. After using the data both from observation and analog, and comparing with the centering algorithm of a two-dimensional gaussian fit, it is effective on processing speed and accuracy, especially for the low S/N images.
