The results are given of observations with the 6-m telescope and laboratory investigations of a two-chamber image converter of type UMK-91v with magnetic focusing, field 25 x 40 sq mm, and a plane fiber optic output. An original magnetostatic system has been developed for focusing the image, and this has significantly raised the efficiency of observations. The estimated magnitude limit of the 6-m fast spectrograph with the tube UMK-91v for reciprocal dispersion 50 A/mm has been found on the basis of the observations to be not less than 21 mag for an exposure of 1 h.
