The paper examines Kelvin-Helmholtz instability formed in the turbulent mixing of stellar wind and interstellar gas. It is shown that second order effects tend to limit the growth of the instability; in particular, disturbances of large wavelengths cannot break up the stream of shocked gas unless it has cooled down considerably. Turbulent diffusion between the two kinds of gas is also limited and cannot suck away the shocked stream before it has lost most of the thermal energy gained in the shock.
