The turbulent flows over 2-D backward-facing steps with different step inclination angles at Mach numbers M = 2 -5 are considered. The flows are numerically simulated on the basis of the full Favre-averaged Navier-Stokes equations comple mented with the two-equation Wilcox turbulence model. The comparison with experimental data available was performed. On the basis of numerous parametric computations the structure of the separation zone has been investigated for different step inclination angles and Mach numbers. The wave pictures of the complex separated flow realizing in vicinity of BFS has been constructed. It was shown that a non-uniform pressure recovery after the reattachment point is due to the secondary compression waves appearing in the region of the tail shock and free shear layer interaction. Special attention is paid to the investigation of the temperature factor influence on the size of recirculation zone.
