A formula is derived for the turbulence heating by solar plages by Alfven waves. The formula is based on the assumption that plages are caused by Alfven waves rising from the lower layers of the chromosphere, thus increasing the thermal motion of particles in the plage magnetic field. The temperature distribution of the plages is calculated, and the results are compared with Osterbrock's (1961) measurements of heat distribution in the plage magnetic field above the faculae.
